With
speeds up to 30 mph unassisted and a range of up to 30 miles,
the E+ electric bike combines advanced engineering excellence
with the look and feel of a traditional bicycle.
The
E+ (E-Plus) is assembled and rigorously tested in a state
of the art production and testing facility near Washington
DC by a uniquely experienced team of engineers and technicians
dedicated to the highest standards of quality, performance,
reliability and safety.
The
electric
motor, battery
pack, and display
controller are simply revolutionary with the
latest technology and previously unseen levels of performance
and intuitive design. The frame is custom-made and all components

The E+ 1000 watt needs to be registered in the state
of California as a motorized bicycle using DMV form
REG
230. California DMV registration requires a
one-time registration fee and take 4 to 6 weeks
to receive mini-plates that need to be attached
to the electric bicycle. A valid driver's license
and DOT helmet are also required.

Automotive-quality resistance to the elements.
Instead
of using "off the shelf" motors, batteries and
controllers, EMS has methodically addressed the reliability
problems associated with electric powered bicycles and designed
E+ components to be virtually indestructible with the highest
levels of resistance against foreign particles, shock and
vibration.
EMS
has carefully designed and manufactured the complete system
from the ground up to withstand water, shock, vibration,
mud and dirt, and to perform reliably and safely in all
types of terrain and weather conditions. It looks like they
pulled it off because the finished product is practically
bomb-proof. Rest assured that Electric Cyclery is doing
our best to break our test model.
The
EMS Test and Engineering Department divides their testing
procedures into two parts – first in the testing laboratory,
then in the field. At the E+ Test Lab near Washington DC,
they perform vibration, shock resistance, durability, water
resistance, battery, and software tests; these are followed
by rigorous outdoor and field tests.
One
year full warranty with extended warranties available.
E+ bicycles are guaranteed to the original purchaser for
one year from date of purchase. In case of problems, the
display controller unit contains a diagnostic system that
allows EMS engineers to identify maintenance issues, allowing
for speedy and accurate repairs. Please refer to the E+
warranty
for more information. One and two year extended warranty
plans are also available.

The E+ electric motor
The
E+ is powered by a newly designed and proprietary
EMS 1000 watt (750 watt standard) hub-mounted, brushless
permanent magnet motor with a state-of-the-art microprocessor
and field oriented control.
|
Most
electric bikes use off-the-shelf display/controller
units of poor quality and limited capabilities. E+
uses a controller unit with state-of-the-art microprocessor
designed for the E+.
|

The
E+ electric bicycle battery
The
E+ battery pack is also newly designed and available
only on E+ bikes. It features a 36 Volt 9 Ah NiMH
battery with replaceable sets of 5 cells and electronics
sealed inside the front hub.
